So, earlier tonight, I decided I wanted to expand my crafting horizons and...picked up a couple knitting needles. I will not say how long it took me to figure out the whole casting on thing (and really, the two techniques I found on wikiHow are like night and day as far as difficulty goes.) But now I've got it

But yeah, I'm using a cotton yarn so I can turn these little samples I'm making into small dish clothes or something. I've got plenty of scarves ^^; I think I've got the knit stitch down now. I'm going to try the purl one later and then try to alternating it and making things more complicated from there.
When I actually do get to the pattern (it's really only variations of knit and purl stitches in different quantities), I'm definitely going to need to write down the number of rows and mark them off as I go because right now? I...can't tell how many rows I've got ^^; Crochet rows are easier to count. And I think I will have to steal some of Mom's stitch counters for when I attempt anything bigger.
I'll definitely bring my needles along! Didn't know Amity knits either. How cool ^.^
