OK, so lightning hit the house earlier, and fried my modem/router, and a phone, and turns out, the PC ethernet card.

K- has the new modem shipped to the house and not the POB, and it was delivered, on the back porch. No telling how many days we'd had it. I installed, and no worky. that's when I learned ethernet card was shot.
