I'd like it to be noted that I gave 'Cautionary Advise' about living with a girl you have feelings for before you do so. Just so that at a later date I have every grounds to say 'I old you so!' On the side of that however you have no idea how much I hope it works out for you. I wouldn't want one of my longest standing friends to have to deal with what I've had too.

Of course I wouldn't say 'I old you so!' as that would be silly. I'd would say, 'I TOLD you so!'

Sounds like a lot happened on your side of the pond,(I will never understand that phrase, it's an ocean not a pond!)I'm sorry you had to watch the girl you love go off with another. I know how badly that hurts, but you are a good guy and obliviously and good friend. I hope things work out for you and her, but it's like you said above,
"I'd rather live with one of my best friends (despite what Tom says) than try a relationship with her, have it fall apart and then have all hell break out. Rejection may be tough for a while but losing her as a friend just isn't worth the risk."
