While everybody's got their panties in a twist over Modern Warfare 2 coming out next week, another story has been going on about this year's Wii Call of Duty offering. It's not Modern Warfare 2. Not completely related but I must comment on this reply in the conspiracy theory thread:

Developers are supposed to be like artists, they create art to make the world more colorful and pride themselves in the joy they can bring to the world through their hard work and imagery of the world.

I'm sorry, but this man has never met an artist in his life.

As for IW, this wouldn't surprise me. Big companies like Activision, Microsoft, Ubisoft, etc. always get the fingers pointed at them because of "OMG! EVIL CORPORATION IS RUINING MAH FAVORITE FRANCHISE!!!" I'd wager that, as unfortunately common as it is, executive meddling is not the source of as much woe as it's made out to be. Developers aren't all rainbows and ponies themselves.
