I used to keep mice when I was young. Seeing yours brings back memories~ I haven't met a lot of friends who keep mice. :( Actually, make that, I don't know anyone else who does. Most people I talk to don't seem to like the long tails? (I find their tails cute!) How are fancy mice different from normal mice?
Out of curiosity btw, do your cats get along with your mice? XD (That picture of Sora's incredibly cute btw.) Or do you have to put the mice in unreachable places?
Hehe, I love their tails. They're so flexible and useful, especially when they curl them around your fingers to keep their balance. Fancy mice are the same species and all that, but they've been bred for color and fur type, mostly. The new ones I have have some texel traits, which means their fur is longer with a tendency to curl. They can also be long-haired, hairless, etc... there are so many possibilities!
Oh my word, my cats love my mice, but I do have to keep them separate. The cats have this incredible desire to play with them, which of course doesn't work since the mice are so small. They'll knock their cages over or bat at them if they have the chance. They could watch them for hours, though.
Mice and Kitties, yay! OMG, I think Kai is totally adorable! I have a thing for giant fluffball cats. And seeing Aiyah reminds me of my own recent trip to the animal shelter. Our house bunny had passed away and we were torn between kittens and rabbits and the kitten we liked best was also missing an eye but was a total sweetheart. We ended up adopting a giant rabbit though, mainly because I've always had house bunnies and it felt too weird without one. Sora...IS BIG!
Haha, the best part is, I didn't know he was going to become a giant puffball when I got him. He was so thin and his fur was so sparse that I thought he would just be a short to medium haired cat. Boy was I wrong! But he's just one big blob of love, so it's okay.
Aww, bunnies. :) I'm glad you got a new one. Does he roam around your house, or do you keep him caged up most of the time? And yes, Sora is ginormous. Too bad he seems to think he's still a kitten, haha.
He roams around whenever at least one of us is awake so he's about 50/50 free/caged. He's a big boy and rather hard to miss when he's tearing around the place.
