That was quite nasty but in the good, fic way. The paragraph about infection was telling and Ace keeping his usual attitude despite it all kept the tension from being too great.

Mm, thank you. I wanted to play with the idea that Ace was perhaps worse off than he realized (or cared to admit), and it gave me an excuse to do a little research on the frailty of the human body. Interesting yet nasty stuff, like you said. :)
