"Yeah, Veronica, Veronica Mars," Bel said. "She works at Caritas and sings quite a bit. Cute little thing, nosy as hell. She's the one who pinned Kitty Pryde's murder on Angelus, so I'm sure he'd love to have a piece of her when he's back." He grinned. "I promised to keep the JA off her back, but I didn't promise not to point you in her direction."
"Well, then. Let's approach this problem from multiple directions. You pursue your lines of inquiry and I'll see if there is any way I can put Miss Mars in the sort of danger that Angel would give his very, very best for." Darla smiles in satisfaction.
"Did I mention she's extremely afraid of fire?" Bel said. "Yeah, okay, you check her out, I'll keep looking where I've been looking. Hopefully we can find something soon because I am beyond tired of seeing Angelus in this condition. It's just sickening."
Darla smiled thinly. "I assume he's been avoiding me. He can't hide forever, though. But this time, I'm not going to be a fool." She shook her head, dispelling her thoughts. "Veronica's afraid of fire? I'm sure we can do something with that. It's sad what burn scars can do to beauty."
Bel conjured a fireball and idly bounced it in his hand. "I had fun playing with these with her, until Angel had to go all hero," he said. "I'm sure you can think of something...creative."
"A puddle of gasoline, a fragile blonde and a lit cigarette. I think he'll get the point. Last time, he did it to me. This time, I'll hurt someone he cares for."
"Sounds like fun, and appropriate," Bel said, grinning. "But if he agrees to give up his soul for her, can he force it out on his own? How would that work? Or he just wouldn't fight while we used magic?"
"In my admittedly little experience, magic tends to be about intentions. If we had a witch who could cast a spell, Angel wouldn't be resisting, and out comes the soul. And I think you said something about finding a way to prision it up so they can't just stick it back in."
"Yeah." Bel nodded. "There are ways to do it back home, I know. I'll have to take a trip home and check on just how it's done. Hopefully I can avoid any awkwardness while I'm there." He winced, then explained before Darla could even ask. "My foster father kinda gave guardianship of me to Angelus. So I really don't want to explain to him that Angelus is now Angel."
"Well... as Angelus' guardian, you could make an argument that I'm your guardian... okay, maybe that won't work. But if there is anything I can do to help."
