Thanks. That's reassuring.

hugs, sorry about the delay, and will you be coming to FilkContinental? (I assume if yes, it will be car or train, so flying isn't going to be a problem!)

And the nice thing about later in August is that you may be able to put your feet up and enjoy the late English summer :-)

I suspect that if I get a date in August, I probably won't be up to a long journey until after FilkContinental. :(

But as you say, if the weather in September is nice, I might get to enjoy some of it. :)

Frustrating and unsettling: but it does sound as if you are taking steps forward...

Argh, why does it have to be so much effort for the patient - you got the bad side of the stick anyway... :o/

Hope things'll work out with the surgery appointment!

Have you considered going by train, if you get a date for the op before August? The Man in Seat 61 makes it sound like a good experience and the prices do not seem prohibitive. I am seriously considering this possibility for shewhomust and me when we go to Jackie’s 60th celebrations at Christmas.

I did consider other options for travel, and decided that if I was not well enough for a short flight, I would probably not be well enough for a longer, more tiring journey either. But thanks for the suggestion.
