George is saying the right words - indicating he understands the underlying problem. But I don't think he's raising the alarm bells loud enough. If he truly understood the game changing nature for our economic future, and the pain that people will experience - he would have his political opponents in a room discussing solutions or ways to mitigate the pain - and then have a televised speech to the nation outlining the changes needed. It would be nice to have Hillary, Barack, and Johnny Mac discuss the #1 issue of our times - rather than the absolutely silly, trivial things on the news today. Let's stop wasting our time on 'energy independence', and Reverend Wright, and who's black, who's female, and who's too old. The American people can handle it. We need a leader to talk straight about this issue - and I don't see it from the incumbent, or any of the presidential candidates. The 'debate' right now among candidates is so 1990's - so last century - it's pathetic. This should be like that brief moment right after 9/11 when

Totally off-topic, but have you heard of thermo-chemical storage using ammonia? Basically you use passive solar heating to break ammonia into nitrogen and hydrogen. Then recombine when you need the heat. Wonder if this is a better answer to energy storage than ones you or I have mentioned.
