...why did I listen to Poe's "Haunted" at night?

The song, "House of Leaves" is terrifying beyond anything I have ever heard in my entire life. I can't even put it into words. I tried to listen to it a second time, because I figured it was one of those things that scares you the first time around - the shock of the thing... but I had to pause it.

I've had Poe's "Hey Pretty" on my computer for about nine years (or really -- it was on one computer... then on the next... then on the laptop. It's an old mp3! XD), listened to it last night and all the references clicked. I'm curious how it would be to have that happen with the entire album. The entire thing is wonderful and touching and freaky and just plain different. Picking out every mention of "growl" and "echo" and "shadow" and finding lines directly from the book is an amazing added bonus. <3
