Dear M'lady Strahl, Laptop Extraordinaire,

Please to stop running so damned hot all the time. I know your rubber feet melted off months ago and that makes it tough, and I know it's around eighty degrees now, but you're barely running any programs right now and I really don't want to have to hibernate you ( Read more... )

computadora, woe, strahl

Mmmmm~ I swear my Toshiba used to disintegrate any hair that happened to be on my thighs. It burned but it was kind of cool! It's probably the only thing I miss about it.

Your PC is an antique! :D

No, I get overheating computers all the time. Michelle has this cool targus gel pad that is hard until the computer heats and then it turns into cooling gel. Jeff had that two fan lap thingy, that seemed to work really well for him.

This is the reason I almost exclusively use my desktop now.

Welp, the cooling fan totally worked better when she still had her rubber feet -- there was more room for the air to vent out, I guess. Now I think the fan is the only thing keeping her from frying. D: That and the air conditioning.

Maaan, I remember the desktop I had before my Vaio got so hot that we had to unscrew the side and turn an actual desk fan on it. Those were the days.

I miiiiight have hyperbolized a bit. xP

It wasn't so much that they melted off, rather I think the glue got hot and gave way so they kind of fell off and disappeared somewhere (probably in the dog's belly) I'm sure this happens because I don't keep my computer on a desk so much as it's constantly moving.

I wish they sold replacements. They could make a mint!

HE DOES.

True story: I bought salt & vinegar chips because I like salt & vinegar and I know NO ONE ELSE does so they'd be safe to parade around. So I was eating them yesterday and Jack is sitting on his butt looking cute and I think, "Heh heh. Can't wait to see your face when you try THIS!" and I toss him a chip.

And he devoured it.

And he wanted MORE.

*flails*

One of the things I find helpful is keeping the laptop on a hard sold surface. Even a big book can help.

That would totally work if I still had the rubber feet. But. Erm. Well, I think I might be responsible for killing a good section of the end table. I can't think of anything else that semi-scorched the wood finish.
