They've only played once in Denmark in the past 5 years where I've been a fan, and that was at Roskilde Festival at 2 in the morning where the ticket cost 200 euroes. But it must suck how they never play in their native country - apparrently, after what Ville's said in various interview, people don't wanna hear 'em at home.

Anyway, I just hope they get around to Denmark on the upcoming tour - thanks for sharing the pictures though. You must have had a wonderful gig.

I've been a HIM fan for two and a half years, and yesterday was the 8th time I saw them in Finland, so it's not quite true that they never play here. (Granted, most of those gigs have had an age limit.)

Hello there !
How are you ?
How did you find the gig !
I am all ecstatic ! I want to see them again so bad !!!
Like right now lol !
Yes the age limit I had not thought of that ! I reckon we don't have that rule here or I never noticed. I think I went to my first gig at 13 or 14, we were 2 or 3 friends, parents just dropped us in front of the venue and went to the restaurant and picked us up again after lol ! Good memories ! Long time ago !

Just because fans use the same hotel doesn't make them a groupies, which in my view is rather a derogatory term.

Hello and welcome!
Great photos! You were very lucky to have met him! We'd love to hear more about it, if you're willing to share? :)
And when it comes to pics of meeting Ville, we don't mind blurry shots either. ;) LOL

Thanks for sharing!

I'm sorry, I have my personal code that I keep all these rare memories inside.
I can edit this post with the other shot later but he was moving so, hehe.

That's cool. I don't blame you....I've never shared my own special private memory from Baltimore with anyone either. ;)

Welcome and thanks for the pics.
I love the one at the hotel of course :)
Are you Finnish ? I talked a little with a Finn at Helldone and she said ... how can I put this right .... that there are other bands that get much more attention in Finland than Him and that they are more successful outside their own country. She found that awesome that there were so many people of different nationalities attending the Helldone gigs.
Seems things are changing a bit, I am glad that the audience was happy to see them and that the band had a blast playing !

Yes, I'm finnish. It's true they're more popular outside which is a shame.
Besides them there's only one band I love that's finnish and they both are more popular outside and throw gigs too rarely in here. It's a shame.

They're more popular abroad, because they get more promotion there, and as I said - they only play Helldone and the occasional summer festival here, and have done so for years. It's easy to see eight gigs in two years when you are lucky enough to get tickets for four days in a row, but most people who have to work, don't get a chance to book tickets online at 9AM on a Monday morning, call the hotline, or spend the night at tiketti's door to be the first in line. Look at how much they've toured in the US and UK in comparison! It's understandable, because of course every local band wants to get big in Europe, or, if possible, in the US. However, there are plenty of great local bands around which will play the clubs a lot more often than Finnish export bands as e.g. HIM, The Rasmus, or Apocalyptica. So it's not surprising people start focusing more on the bands they get to see more often and which receive more promotion in Finland, instead of abroad.

I simply don't think it's true that they would be more successful outside of Finland ( ... )
