very cool..!!
kinda looks like layer masks have been used.. but Im glad that isnt the case.. cause I can't figure out how to use layer masks.. LOL.. I only did one icon with a layer mask and its horrible LOL..

can you add fonts to GIMP? o.O
cause I sure as **** don't have that font.. LOL..

um, i don't manually add the fonts to GIMP. i just add them to the computer and they automatically appear on GIMP. :)

what i do is i download the font i want and then i put it in a folder that you can name "FONTS". :)
then i copied the font from inside the zip and pasted in the folder.
now, this is what i did:
Start: Control Panel: Fonts
(that's what's on my comp)
File: Install Fonts

and that tis what i do. hope that is helpful!
