After a lot of fighting, resting, then fighting some more, we had finally made our way down to the bottom of Payon's dungeon. Sister Lucia judged that the outward motion of the undead indicated that they were originating from a point in the middle of this level. We had a lot of trouble combating the crazy-looking wolves with multiple tails and the ( Read more... )

Thank heavens you are alive! We also have you and Lucia to thank for this new information! You two deserve a long rest!

And maybe at a later time, a larger party could be formed to get rid of this "Moonlight."

I am truly lucky in surviving such a ruthless monster with my head on my shoulders. Lucia and I were hurt somewhat badly, so we will be resting in Payon for the time being. Although I only rest for Lucia's sake...

I agree. A large party would be able to overwhelm Moonlight and... [Pause for reading Seth's comment]

However much I thank Odin you're safe, getting rid of the Moonlight Flower would disrupt the balance.

Eh? What balance? The balance of how many undead spawn in the caves?

We believe that the Moonlight Flower keeps the undead under control with the bell that she has in her possession.

I see. Well that complicates things. In that case, that means she could be helping keep Payon from being overun with undead, or be the cause of all our undead problems. I guess that party to take her on will have to wait till we know more.

That sounds horrible! Are you alright, Kris?

We're both okay... somehow. Odin must be watching over Sister Lucia and me today, for it's nothing short of a miracle that I sit here writing this.

I don't want to admit this to anyone, but the resident Priestess has told me that it will take a few weeks for my bones to heal fully. I broke my left arm and shoulder when Moonlight grazed me during Sister Lucia's rescue. Can such a strong being truly exist?
It would be pleasant if I could spend a little of that time visiting you. We haven't talked face to face since Halloween, and I don't think either of us were ourselves that night.

Oh my. It will heal though, yes?

Lucas dislocated his shoulder recently. It seems my friends have a habit of arm injuries.

Ah, visiting Juno? Certainly, if you like. I am going home to Einbroch after finals next week, though.

I think so. The Priestess said it should heal just fine if I ... rest.

Really? What an interesting coincidence. I hope he heals swiftly. A shame that Heal has its limits, really.

I... see. I wouldn't dream of interrupting your studies, so perhaps we should postpone until I'm well enough to make the much longer journey to Einbroch.

You got to fight demons and you did not invite me?

I am hurt!

Um... forgive me. I don't honestly think you'd have wanted to go through what we had, though. Talk about being taught a lesson the hard way.

It is the only way Rune-Midgard seems to teach lessons.

Glad you're safe, brother. If you assemble a larger group to fight "Moonlight", I'll come along.

And Kris, if you could defeat everything, what would you have to work toward?

Ah, you make an excellent point as always, Abraham. I will take it in as a learning experience.

By the way. I was gone for quite some time. How's things been going for you?

Same as always, I suppose. I've been busy, but nothing noteworthy has been going on. It's been surprisingly quiet, in fact.
