Fingon is feeling better! Clean clothes and family gatherings do things for you!

So he's sitting downstairs and chilling on the couch, flipping without interest through a book and hoping some people show up. Because, after all, it's lovely to see cousins family. Despite the nasty othercousinthings wandering around.

And we might assume this is shortly after Phedre was weirded out by Tyelko - she'll be hugging herself on the windowsill, not noticing Fingon just yet.

She nods, then, and says, "I understand." The name Illuvatar is not the one in her mind, but it resonated with it in ways that told her a lot of things in that short moment.

"Children of the One God, as we are." She curtsies again, low and respectful. "You are an ancient people, and I am honored, My Lord."

He inclines his head, accepting the praise. Proud, Fingon? No way.

And then she looks up, shyly - but it's artful, a courtesan's skill. "And you seek a King or a Queen of Men?"

"I do, of a fashion. I'm told there isn't one here."

"I do not know of any, sir, that would be here, nay," she never heard of Guinevere. "But there is a King's Steward. His name is Sir Kay. Perhaps he will be able to answer your query, though you may wish to know, he speaks only for a small faction."

"That is what I wonder for. There is no one leader of your people?"

"No, My Lord. In any time of Man that I know of, there never was. Men have governed their kingdoms separately, warring and making alliance." A curious pause. "Is it not the same of the Children of Illuvatar, Your Majesty?"

"No, nor, from what I have been told, of the Edain."

"I am afraid that I do not follow, My Lord." She frowns, thinking of all the people she knows at the Mansion.

"There was once a High King of your people or so my cousin has told me."

"Of the Edain, My Lord?" She tilts her head. "A god, perhaps. But even Blessed Elua never had all of Earth's people under his banner." Lost in thought, she ponders aloud, "I cannot quite think there would be one here - there are people here of various times and places - the mix is much too eclectic, for that."

He didn't know that. "Different places?"

"Aye sir. I am from Terre d'Ange, and there are people from France, Hungary, America, England, the Duchies...."

A small pause. There is a king's bastard in her roster of lovers, after all. Maybe two, though she's not sure about Fitzchivalry completely.

Wow, Phedre. You just pick them up, don't you?

He frowns, thoughtful. "I see."

XD Apparently. Speaking of Fitz, we'd like to see him soon.

She nods. "It would not be so easy, to unite them all under a banner, I think not."

And she knows what she's talking about - which probably shows in her bearing and the way she says it.
