Loved this - really wish we'd seen more of them all interacting on the freighter, and they are all really in character!

Oh wow, this was so good and original! I just love the idea behind it, and it's great that you went with Michael's POV since he gets a lot less fic space than he'd deserve. I loved the game, I love how everyone was absolutely IC, the Dan/Charlotte interaction was awesome (and ha, I love that Dan is good at cards because of the whole probabilities thing, that was awesome) and I loved the Miles dialogue. And Frank = ♥ here, totally. But I really liked how you had Michael's reasoning in the brackets, it was such a clever idea and really well done. The section with Walt at the end was heartbreaking. I loved it!

Thank you! I was a little "... errrrr" about trying Michael for the first time, and I'm still not 100 per cent about the way he works, but he was absolutely interesting to write. It actually really came from reading your ficlet, and realizing what a unique POV he could provide -- so thanks to you! :D

Glad to hear you thought everyone stayed IC, and that the dialogue worked -- was kind of sweating bullets about that last one in particular, since it was intended to be a "talky" fic. Great, great input, as per usual!

What an interesting story! I really got a good sense of Michael's confusion having to act as Kevin and his reluctance to join in with a group, but the sheer pleasure he got doing just that. I especially like Miles's voice and how he clearly had his own walls up and was picking on everyone else. As always, great work with Dan and Charlotte.

See you're branching out already!

Thank you so much! I'm really happy to hear that the motivations and inner debate I was going for actually worked; I'm still a little on the fence about my perception of Michael and how it played out in this story, though I hope I can return to him again and sharpen it more.

Hahah, yeah, slowly but surely! ;D

I have to say, after having a love/hate relationship with Michael since season 1, this definately put him in a new light. Amazing beyond words, as usual!

Again, my favorite part is your character writing. I love how you wrote the Freighties in their downtime. I wish we could have seen more of that in the show!

Thank you! I'm glad the fic was able to give you a fresh take on the character; I still have conflicting feelings about Michael and his motivations, but I feel like he's been sold short in terms of appearing in fic -- he's complicated, but so, so interesting.

Me too! I spent all of 'Meet Kevin Johnson' hoping for peeks at Dan or Charlotte or Miles, chilling in the galley or hanging out on decks. I know "freightie downtime" was probably low on the list of priorities in such a short season, but man that would have been cool!
