I don't know why but I always seem to view Claire with this masochistic streak, especially during those three years and post-island; I just can't picture her happy.
Hee, I couldn't resist the Charlie nod -- I figured if there was anything reckless she could do, that would be one big one! ;D

That line just really got to me, the idea of Claire being everything for everyone who didn't make it off the island, like being Jack for Kate.
The image of Claire trying to put on eyeliner and failing just broke my heart.

I think for some reason I view Claire as carrying a lot of that burden once they're off-island; that everyone kind of babies her so they don't have to deal with their own stuff, and even if she's with Kate it's maybe not for the right reasons.
Even though Claire's not my favourite character, I still really love that image in canon of her back during her rebellious stage.
Thanks again for the wonderful feedback!

And thank you so, so, so much for your always-kind words; I don't particularly like the character too much (well, some incarnations of her, at least) so it was a bit of a challenge ... so pleased you thought it worked!

I feel like Claire of any of them (except maybe Richard) would struggle the most with adapting to post-island life, with what she left behind and how much those three years would have impacted her. Very interesting perspective to explore!
