You have such a knack for finding all of the interesting possibilities of the sideways world. When I read about Dan and Charlotte getting their second chance and falling in love, it's hard for me to remember why the concept made me so bitter.
It's hard for to pick a favorite bit, but this part made me grin:
But then Charlotte had come into his life -- not just some vague figure against his eyelids at night, not some cipher, symbol, in the museum's hallways, but a person; whole and real and if he'd loved her in the first seconds that he'd seen her it's a pale ghost of what he feels now, a phantom that can barely compare -- and don't worry, something had whispered, let go. GORGEOUS.
(p.s. Big brother!Miles was amazing.) :D

Awww, thanks for this too; I think that's one of the things that appeals about the sideways!world, even for all my issues with it -- there's really no limit, and as a writer you can bend pretty much anything to suit your needs. That is a playground to be in. ;P
Lol! Big brother!Miles ... he'd seriously be the coolest BFF ever. That's another thing I loved about the alternate/limbo/whatever universe, that him and Charlotte were buddies, because it's so perfect.

Her palm slides in against his while he walks her back to her apartment that night, fleeting and cool and for just a second, fingers laced tight around his (here I am, don't let go); it's a feeling that burns white-hot in the best way and he doesn't forget it.
I love all of it though, and I'm definitely going to be coming back to read this very often! Thank you so much for writing it. :)

Yeah, I still wish we'd seen more of them in general in the finale, but I am pleased at how they sort of left it at the beginning of their relationship, with so much left to come.
You're very, very, VERY welcome -- it was a real pleasure to write! :D

"bits of confetti still littering ashtrays and countertops, streamers and balloons already wilting under the heat of the place even just past midnight."
to name just one bit of hundreds that i loved. Just so evocative.
Nice that you included Miles because thats how I see his relationship with Charlotte in the flashsideways.
And as for the romance, well just spot on! the first bit when they ask each other out, I mean that was so perfect.
The whole thing was a pleasure to read :D Your just great you know that?

Lol, apparently I have a thing about setting scenes in bars and pubs. ;P
I couldn't not include Miles -- loved that he had that close connection to Charlotte in the flashsideways as well, and I would be interested to see him and Dan interact in that scenario. And heehee, I can't see that first interaction/date/whatever being anything but awkward, considering the two people involved!
And thank you again -- I'm so flattered by all your lovely feedback!
