yes awesome, I'm sick with a really bad chest infection and this cheered me up!!!!
Dear lil Charlotte, vulnerable but only around Dan.
Thanks for doing my prompt i love it! I always wondered about how she felt when Locke's group dragged her off to the Dharma compound :D

Oh yay! I'm so glad you liked, and happy it came at a time to cheer you up too! :D

That's one of the things I like about Charlotte too -- she's not easily vulnerable (which is a nice counterbalance to Dan's weepiness, lol) but she's still willing to share it sometimes. And yes! Me too -- I've only mentioned it once briefly in another fic, and I wish I'd explored that moment mroe.

Oh this is so lovely!

I love the way you explore the connection between them here when they were just beginning, how they're already comfortable with each other even though there are so many things they don't know yet.

I love all of the physical connections in this, Dan wanting to take her hand, Charlotte shifting closer to him. It's so sweet and hesitant. And then the end with Dan settling with comforting her over protecting her...just perfect.

Amazing work.

Thank you so much! :D

My take on it is that even when they get to the island and you see there's that comfort level -- especially at the end of S4 and during S5 -- it's not like they've known each other long. So figuring that, I imagine their connection must have been something fairly instantaneous, and one neither of them really overanalyzed (especially with all the secrets still between them).

Yay, I'm so glad you thought that worked -- I guess I just see so much of their feelings displayed through physicality, so it made sense to display that here.

*sigh* -> This is me turning more and more into a Charlotte/Daniel fan (and it's all your fault, damn you ;)). What a wonderful fic. Your Charlotte voice never ceases to amaze me. And your Daniel, too, of course. I love how comfortable they seem to feel around each other here. Great work, as always. :)

Haha, so glad to hear it -- I'll covert you yet! ;D

I'm really pleased to hear you thought the comfort level worked here -- I basically kind of skipped over what I would assume would have been initial awkwardness and went right to how I feel they are privately in S4 and publicly in S5.

Awww, a lovely tender moment. You did a great job showcasing Dan and Charlotte's different voices in tone and quantity.

P.S. When I saw this prompt, I thought you were going have Dan be recording under the name Geronimo while in Ann Arbour!

Thanks so much! And especially for the comment about being able to differentiate between the two of them -- I try not to rely on British-icms and other stuff to pointedly say "Charlotte" all the time, so I'm glad that came through.

P.S. When I saw this prompt, I thought you were going have Dan be recording under the name Geronimo while in Ann Arbour! Oh my god, can you imagine?! That is one fic I'd love to see, though it would have to be done by someone with a far firmer grasp on crack!fic than me. ;P

I guess it could be crack!fic, or it could just be Dan going all counterculture on us as an outlet. Hmmmmm....maybe I will think it through.

Yeah, that was definitely my initial response -- something a little cracky -- but you're absolutely right it could work the other way. Ooooh, I would love to see you do it! ;D

Such a sweet moment. I have wondered what Charlotte thought of when she was brought to the Dharma houses and if she remembered them, it was great to see that!

Thank you so much! Yeah, it's something I wish we could have seen, though I suppose a lot of the same was captured in when she first lands on the island. Still find that fascinating, though!
