I'm a bit wary of the pairing - the whole minor thing - but I do trust your writing, so...

I'm glad I read it; the fic is subtle and there's this beautiful sense of longing.

Thanks for taking a chance with this. I've got plenty of reservations about the pairing, which is why I've never written them outside of this in a challenge format, and without the intention of launching a huge debate, I have trouble reconciling the fact they're fictional characters with not wanting to glorify or romanticize something like a relationship with a minor. So while I really like both characters and writing them -- and can see why some would be inclined to be passionate about the pairing -- I'm still not really onboard (why I didn't include anything very overt or obvious in this).

Anyway, rambling aside, thanks so much for the wonderful feedback! ;D

Wow, thank you so much! That is the highest compliment for something that's supposed to be Halloween-inspired. :D

I really liked TR's interpretation of "Alex as Smoke Monster" in S5 -- and one of the only things saving that super-silly Ben-centric, in my humble opinion -- so that's where it kind of came from. Thanks again for the lovely comments!
