I wanted to keep it as vague and broad as possible, because I think the not-knowing is part of what makes it creepy, so I'm really pleased to hear that worked for you.
her uncertainty that she can make it work and her unwillingness to lie to herself or Dan about it. I'm so glad you pointed that out, because that's another thing that was really important for me to get across -- that it's not about, really, anything supernatural or weird but how people respond to unknown things, and that as much as you love someone, that may not be enough.
