I was saying to angela_weber above that I don't know if I can see an ending beyond one of them dying, to be honest, at least in terms of the ship. (Though I tend to lean more towards Jack, and his character as a whole needing to die to complete his development, but that's a whole 'nother conversation. ;P) I'm really pleased to hear you thought that worked, though, since I always do still hesitant to create such a final ending for any of the characters in a fic.
And oh yes, the angst! Like a lot of other pairings, I think -- though fluff can always be well-written and IC -- it suits them best; you can really wring so much emotion of them.
