To be sincere this website has taken my breath away.
I believe that Maestro Gergiev is the best Russian contemporary conductor. Needless to say, my favourite.
I came to know his amazing production in 1998 with his recordings (Kirov Orchestra) of Mazeppa and Symphony #6 by Tchaikovsky. Outstanding versions!
As to Romeo and Juliet (London Symphony Orchestra) his conducting was superb! Many thanks!!! I hope The Colon Theatre will be honoured with Maestro Gergiev's presence someday.
