And here is the next one. I want to caution you that, although I've gotten a few drabbles off pretty quickly, that I won't always be able to update this series so rapidly.

I don't know that I replied to the last one, unfortunately, sometimes I'm on the run and forget to come back.

I love this series. I love love love Don as a bad guy and I love that he's pulled Charlie in. Or did Charlie pull Don in? Regardless, I love it.

Please write more. Soon. Hee.

I'm really honored that you like the series so much already! I have to admit that bad!Don really is growing on me. Though it is so much easier to put good!Don in angsty situations...

Anyway.

As for who pulled in who... some of that will be answered in the next drabble (Fantasy) though it will later on become clear that it isn't quite as straightforward as it at first appears. There are layers here that I have pulled from the series.

As for writing, I'm doing so right now :)

I'm really enjoying this series. It's such a different take on what we usually see from the brothers, and I can't wait for the next drabble. :)

And yet not *too* different, I hope. I am trying to keep most parts of their personalities the same, simply give them another drive (as we all know that they are both quite driven).

Oh no, no *too* different. Not what I meant at all. It's just nice to see a different (yet still plausible) side to two characters who are usually portrayed as heroes.

Ah, okay.
The plausibility was the part I was most worried about. *I* could definitely see it happening, but then I am quite known for seeing a darker side to my favorite characters that others don't always see :)

I like that you brought Edgerton into this. The team we know needs a strong leader in Don's absence. And of course I love Don as a criminal!

Well, Ian is my third favorite character other than Don and Billy and it made so much *sense* to include him. I've always gotten the impression that he can kind of pick and choose his assignments and, well, an FBI agent-turned-criminal, I just see that as being something he'd pick. Well, that and I thought the clash between him and Don with them being on opposite sides would be very great and a lot of fun to write (I've actually jumped ahead and written one of the confrontation scenes as it wouldn't leave me alone!).

The team also does need a good, strong leader for this particular case. They normally have another one in this universe but he's a bit flacky and likes to take lighter cases to make his record look better with a more successful closure rate.

Thanks!

The next drabble, #5 Fantasy, should be out in a few days as I've finished it and will send it off to my betas tonight.

By the way, thanks for making so many great icons! I'm sure you've noticed that I'm using several of them.

Ah-huh, another great character was involved in this series too. I look forward what Edgerton will do in the future.

I am a little surprised at what you said that there would be a flacky leader for the team in this series. I respect your arrangement, no offense. But I just feel a little pity for them. Because I think they are worth a real good leader, like agent Edgerton, and even Megan or David could be a good leader. Sorry, I have no intention to offend your choice, just my rambling.

Oh yes, I love Edgerton and the opportunity to include him was just too much to pass. Coop will be appearing later on too. I'd wanted to include Billy more than he probably will be, but I can't quite make it fit logically as there is no way that they'd allow him to work the case given his history with Don. And that is if he'd even want to!

As for the team leader thing, I agree that Megan or David will make good leaders in the future, but I don't think they're quite there yet. If they were, they would have gotten their own teams already.

As for the pity, I feel it too. They deserve a good leader (and this will come up in one of the drabble, at this point I'm thinking with the prompt 'in another world'). But that is also part of why they can have Edgerton now.
