So, here's Coop's point of view on the events from Wolves at the Gate, going a little further than that drabble went. Don't worry, this isn't the last bit about the events of this particular evening. The next fic won't be a drabble, though, but a short story as this is such a crucial point in the series that it deserves more attention than I can give it in a drabble.
Also, for those of you wondering about Don's reaction, there's more going on than is immediately apparent here. Go on, take a guess based on what I love to write.
I'd like to thank my two wonderful betas, aleo_70 and fredbassett, for looking this over and providing help with the title when I was completely stuck.

You worry me sometimes, then I think, that's how I'd react, and I'm even more worried.

Not the next one, but the one after that should be a non-drabble length fic. Thanks for mentioning you might like to see them in this series as that triggered several potential ideas!

I am glad Don's accepting, which makes me wonder what other weird stuff he's been exposed to that's got him less than speechless and stunned at this. Hmm...

This bit was actually written a week ago, but I got stuck on the title and decided to let it stew a bit only to get distracted by the part that follows...
If you want, I can just let you know when the longer fic goes up. If it doesn't within the next few days, it may be a little while as I'm going on holiday at the start of next week and will probably have spotty internet access (not sure yet).
Yes, Don's accepting, but there's a little more going on here than either he or Billy realize at present.

I don't want you to go through any special effort for me. As long as there's a master list for the series I can find the longer fic. I know it won't get lost. It's one of the reasons why I advocate for series master lists - they really help people keep up to date because not everyone can read LJ perfectly and religiously.
