Brotherly Love

Title: Brotherly Love
Author: valerienne
Rating: PG
Castlist: Dom, Sean, Mac. No pairing, because, well. Eww.
Warnings: Not as angsty as I meant it to be. Not quite matches what we know of Dom's depressed year. Needs more Billy :)
Disclaimer: Apartments really do cost $1800/month in Beverly Hills, and I bet people wish that wasn't real either.

Sometimes Dom wishes he knew what it was about Sean Astin that drives him completely fucking insane. )

You are such a good writer! Why have I not read you before? Do you have a back catalogue? If so, please give me a link to it? To keep salacious old me hooked all the way through without even a hint of porn is too clever for words! (Which is a silly thing to say, as I've just written words)

This journal is basically my back catalogue actually - it's almost entirely a fic journal. I write FPS over at nickeyb as well, but it's my journal proper, so to speak, so there's other whitterings too :)

I have a yen to write a much angstier and slashier take on this period, set in Mexico. But that comes of reading all the Dom articles that have come out this week :)

Thanks muchly for the rec! *giggles* Can I be the god of actors with sticky-out ears? There aren't that many of them, so it should be easy, don't you think?

This is well-written, and a really effective story, I liked it a lot. Thank you!

I'm glad. And not a speck of slash to be seen... I'm amazed this number of lovely folks have even read it, given the warnings I put on :)

I love how you've used Dom's depression from the inside, without blatantly confirming or acknowleding it. I like that he can love the Astins but not like them, really, because family is family.

This is a great Dom piece. Thank you for it!

And to be fair to Dom, when he comes out of the depression a bit more, he'll stop taking it all out on Sean so much :)

I'm really glad his inner demons were showing - I wondered if I had been a bit too subtle. Depression is not at all subtle when you're in the middle of it, after all.

I was just reading one of those articles where Dom talked about his depression and was thinking about how there should be more fic on this. And wam here it is. Thank you for this, I really believed it and was right there with Dom the whole time.

I suspect it may not be the last time I visit this particular scenario. It's such a rich field for angsty Dom fic. And being a bit of an angsty Dom fan... :) This was basically my take on the Dom-Sean relationship, which I imagine to be a bit spiky at times, given they're such very different people.
