I try not to talk abortion in this space. My views have changed. I used to fall into the "Women are stupid AND evil" camp of pro-lifer. (Most pro-life people fall into "women are evil ogresses" or "women are too stupid to make their own decisions" camps in my experience) Now, I believe everyone gets a chance to be born, many times, and that early ( Read more... )

But these days, the debate isn't just abortion, it's birth control too!

And also fertility rights for those trying to get treatment to HAVE children, not just prevent or abort them. If the Personhood diehards have their way, IVF and other fertility treatments will become illegal as well. The irony of it all burns - on one hand they want to persecute women for aborting fetuses, and at the same time they want to persecute women going to whatever extremes they can afford/might be necessary in order to HAVE one. While still making it hideously difficult to adopt in this country.

Logic, there is none.

(Edited because aborting fetuses, not children. I believe it takes more than a sperm and an egg to meet to qualify as a living being.)

It'll probably pass in Oklahoma. I grew up there. The place is full of stupid.
