My sister asked me to post on her journal when her baby was born, so I didn't even have the chance to post the news here: my FOURTH niece entered the world yesterday morning at 11:43 AM!

I'm glad I'm not the only one who can see it!! Even my brother thought I was dreadful to make the comparison, but it's just the bad picture!

Thanks! And it's good to know Dorothy has such a nice meaning. Apparently Bridget means "exalted one", so all together it's a pretty high-flown name!

I grin my head off every time I see that Picard icon, by the way :)

Thanks! I think I've got the hang of the aunt thing down by now (my oldest niece is 7) but you never know - the new ones could be trouble!

Oh congratulations, Auntie! She's beautiful! New babies, even though they tend to be rather nondescript as just preciously fragile.

And congrats to Mom as well!!

Thanks! And you're definitely right, it's the tiny fragility of newborns that makes the biggest impression. It never ceases to amaze me that for every new baby, somebody is bound to say "look, she's so perfect!" - as if they somehow excepted an unfinished person rather than a small one!

I was so curious about the name!! Glad you posted it. Bridget--very cute.

I was certain she would be a girl (don't ask me why)...though I imagine BG and your oldest niece might feel a bit left out if Bridget and Rebekah hit it off like Ian and Joey have.
