I hope you picked it up and moved it to a prominent place on the table. Then sat down next to it and offered to sign copies!!

I told my dad about this and he was firmly convinced that I needed to go back and sign it!

Then I told my mom and she said, "oh, actually, can you go back and buy it for me? I want my own copy and this way, I won't have to pay shipping!" So I was forced to go back ingloriously and buy my own book.
