I pay about $40 for the perfume I use. That seems to be average for perfumes on Sephora, which is where I buy mine.

Hmm, it would have been helpful in making comparisons if I'd been smart enough to look at the number of ounces! It sounds like this is reasonably priced, unless the bottle's unusually small.

Actually, just this fall there was an Amish Friendship Bread plague in my area. I mean, seriously, eventually you run out of people to give the damn bread to. We ended up freezing some bags of dough simply so we wouldn't have to make more.

Ha! I'm kind of pleased to know it's still going around, though I do remember being saddled with way more bread than any human needs when we did it too.

Amish friendship bread sounds a lot like any old sourdough. You use the starter to make more starter (same concept as yogurt, actually). We had some kind of bread or something made with this mixture of fruit that fermented slightly when I was a kid - same thing, you passed it along. I don't remember much else about it, though.

Perfume is usually $35-$50. Might I ask what you're thinking about buying? I have some Eddie Bauer stuff that I like, and there are a few out there (Angel) that I like that are kind of expensive. My sister and I were in Macy's and I picked up a bottle of stuff that I really liked and it turned out to be Paris Hilton. I didn't buy it for that reason, but I liked it so much I may have to buy it someday.

It's been a long time but I think it was more of a breakfast bread, sweetish. Same concept in making it though.

I can't remember the brand of the perfume, I was just in a tea and coffee store and they had a gift section and there was this green tea scented perfume. I think it was $26 but a small bottle. I sprayed some on and quite liked it, but it wasn't until I was halfway home that I thought "you know, that's probably not a bad price for perfume..."

If you smelled like Caitlin Ford Paris Hilton, I would snicker at you.

Snicker away, then! It did kind of surprise/annoy me to see her on VM.

I know that elizabeth Arden makes an awesome green tea perfume. I'm not sure if that's the one you found.

I read in an interview with Rob Thomas where he said the Paris episode is his least favorite - he gave the impression the network foisted her on them as a ratings draw.

I googled the Elizabeth Arden perfume and it's not the same box. I'll stop in when I go to the post office this afternoon and check the brand.
