I'm considering writing the counterpart to that dark_fest fic where Jack post-Cyberwoman gets all manipulative and conmanish and does machinations to tie Ianto to him psychologically. I don't know if I'll have motivation enough to finish it though.

NELLIE!! :D *squeals* *drools over icon*

I would like to read that fic... but I know all about not wanting to finish fics. I just keep telling myself it only has to be 500 words (and ignoring the voices that know that the story will take more than that to tell)...

curiosity and all that... what drives Jack to want to tie Ianto to him do you imagine?

Partly hurt pride, partly not wanting to kill him and really not wanting to retcon him and have him out in the general population where he can't keep an eye on him, partly not wanting a potentially rogue employee. And I think the situations of Tosh and Owen's employment, particularly, were somewhat the same thing but to a far lesser degree - especially his conversation with Tosh in the prison, it's very deliberate on his part, how he chooses his words. I suspect he thought Ianto would have the same sort of loyalty to him based on his desperation to get the job, and when it turns out he doesn't Jack goes into overkill mode to fix it.
