UW Logo candidate 02 - W Chevron
This isn't what I originally planned for tonight - I was hoping for something a bit more creative. But I'm in the midst of Imprint production tonight, so I needed to implement one of my quick ideas while eating pizza. The logo tomorrow won't be as derivative of the original, I promise.
One of the criticisms of the laser logo is that it departs entirely from the existing branding. I said it, and it's been mentioned on Facebook a few times. Here, I try to integrate a piece of the current branding (the chevron) into the W.
I think it looks alright, but it's still not too inspiring. However, I like it more than Waterpew.
Bonus: I quickly experimented with some different colour combinations. I like the pure black logo a bit more, actually. If I had a bit more time, I'd do a bit more experimentation. I'm pretty sure the chevron could be made more subdued.
Now I have to get back to helping my volunteers make a newspaper.
