March 20, 2003 was the day I started using a new 120 GB IDE hard drive. That drive was what the first belgian used as long as that machine lasted. When that machine had multiple failures a fews ago, the drive was one of, if not the only, surviving piece that ran in the new belgian. I tried a couple recovery tools, but the system refused to boot properly with the drive connected, even for LiveCDs. Perhaps if I had disabled SMART in the BIOS I might have had better luck. I might try that yet, but right now I gain a bit of drive space and a modern interface. It says something that newer motherboards no longer support the interface that drive uses.
