Extra Crispy one of those things that sounds good as kid, but as an adult it just seems wrong - it gets in the way of getting to the actual meat.
I've never cared for gravy, but at least the (old?) KFC gravy was at least barely tolerable. I don't care to imagine what it might have become.
I used to say that White Castle was the Waffle House of the north, but having now been in both I no longer make that claim. I would consider going to a White Castle again.
Yes. William Poundstone's Bigger Secrets says that originally, people said the gravy was so good you'd be tempted to throw the chicken away and keep the gravy, but alas, by the time I was first exposed to a Kentucky Fried Chicken establishment, the gravy had become the ghastly brown gelatinous ick that is known around the world.
When I ate meat I found KFC to be the best of the fried chicken places locally (Church's and Chester Fried Chicken and popeyes being the other three)
Taco bell is my win because now that I don't, they're the only place I can eat a variation of everything on the menu, cause they'll make anything with beans as opposed to meat.
NOTE: The menu at a Canadian KFC isn't always the same as the US. Also, we have a fondess because we're the place that had the first franchises. Yes, I kid you not. We had 'KFC's here called 'Scott's Chicken Villa', and some still exist around my city. They were the first company to buy the recipe and were grandfathered into the KFC world.
First, there is nothing as good as homemade Fried Chicken and if I'm going to get calories, I'd better enjoy them A LOT Secondly That stuff races to my colon Third I have an allergy to poultry fat and if I'm going to spend the night sick for an indulgent pleasure, it will be fabulous Bejing Duck

I'm also told their gravy has gone WAY downhill over the years; that the original gravy was near ambrosia. (I wasn't really into gravy in my youth)
*For that matter, so is Offal House.

That's cause it consumes the actual meat, transforming it into some inedible greasy lump in the process.
