No Fever, No Withdrawal

I used to get "faire fever" after an extended time of not going to renaissance faire. Used to. Last year jmaynard and I decided that we wouldn't get season passes to MNRF. He didn't make much use of his last year, though that was a result of his work and his Jimmy Kimmel appearances rather than avoidance. I found I went every weekend as sort of felt I ( Read more... )

I'll admit I am sad not to be going to MNRF this year. I'm still a young enough rennie (only 5 years now - wow) that I enjoy MNRF whole heartedly.

But you're right, I never shop there, I'm disappointed in the things they allow in, but I do love the shows and find that when the time comes to go home it takes us an hour to find everyone we have to say goodbye too (grin)

I'll admit, thats a really good feeling, and I am missing that really good feeling this year - damnit! (pout)

We did visit a few folks for a little bit, and that's the sort of thing that would be the draw to get us to go to MNRF again this year. We're going to IRF again this year mainly to see folks we know and (with so many other Iowa faires gone) haven't seen in months. It also looks like this will be the last fall IRF, so that's another factor even if the faire itself isn't that great.

I know there are some new Iowa faires, but they're either put on by the same fellow as IRF and that isn't terribly encouraging, or they're quite distant. Or there was a scheduling issue, though that is mostly not a problem anymore.
