Unfortunately, Sheppard had the belt crisscrossed over his wrists the day his people showed up to rescue him. There’d been two tantrums during dinner, one because Sheppard burned himself on the pot and one because he wanted to crawl under the table and climb up Ronon for comfort afterwards. Wow, this was incredible. Very engrossing, and using the POV of Ronon-who-didn't-stay-on-Atlantis was a brilliant choice. The humiliation John suffered from the brainwashing-device could hardly have failed to be maudlin, I think, if told from the POV of someone who had a history with John. But Ronon's compassion was very moving.

Beautiful work!

Oh, well done! I love the view point of Ronon, and they way that he's carved a life out for himself, and the gruff compassion with which he treats Sheppard. Also, an excellent characterization of Sheppard, broke, with tiny bits of him still shining out at times. Great bit of world building too. I'm not entirely sure I bu the entirely minor point that Ronon could read Sheppard's dogtags, but that's neither here nor there.

Fascinating story, thoroughly enjoyed reading it!
