Stump the Author Meme

Snagged from nightrider101.

1.) Go to my master fic list and pick out a line or two from one of my stories. (Must be a full line, please -- no sentence fragments or speech tags or other such nonsense.)
2.) I will respond with which story of mine I think it's from.
3.) A drabble to anyone who stumps me. If you do stump me, feel free to request a situation and ( Read more... )

I know exactly which fic too...

Suddenly he had become Jack’s best chance of getting away from here.

I'm currently updating my masterlist, which is hard work (since I ignored it for ages) and reminds me how freaking many stories I've written. Hard to remember anything.

My wild guess for ths one would be "To Wander, Between the Stars".

O_O Are you sure that was a wild guess?

Second chance?

But there was no future on Gallifrey, and taking away the future nothing is ever destined to happen.

It wasn't a completely wild guess, but I wasn't sure either.

Second chance? Not sure it works like this, but since you're a faithful reader, I'll allow it. Especially since I'm curious for your prompt and have absolutely no idea where this could be from. Something from my Time War table, I guess. Hm...

A true, real wild guess because I honestly have no clue: "Off This Burning Planet"

YAY! I'm glad you decided to play!

Jack didn’t give the impression as if he would take that very well.

Hm... caught me cold here (though I'm not sure that saying actually exists in your language). Okay, logical approach: It's something that's not told entirely from Jack's pov. It's you, so it could be Owen's pov here. If that was the case, it's probably "A Quarter of Your Kingdom".
If it's not Owen's pov, I'm clueless.

An alternate possibility would be "Shade of Somewhere Else", but only the first guess counts. So, it's Quarter, or a drabble for you.

Yep, you're right!

You're way better at this than I am. I'm totally failing at naming my stories on my journal, and you've written way more than me!

So...yet again you win and I fail epically. :P

Did you see? Faithful readers get second chances!

Heh. Sorry. I totally guessed blindly here.

He does what little he can, which is mostly helping them help themselves. Good luck :)

That is, with much probability, from "Ground Zero".

Yeah, you got it. *sigh* Can I try once more? Pretty please :)

I hope you have more luck next time.

Uhm... I think I should know that, but it escapes me. It's not written in present tense, which rules out a few fics...
For lack of another idea, I'd say it's from a part of my "Losing the Lifeline" series, most likely "Pendulum".
Which is probably wrong.

Hehe. No, it isn't from "Pendulum" ..... or even from the "Losing the Lifeline" series ........ much as I love those fics and was tempted to look there.

It is from "Away". (Go on, admit it, you had forgotten about that one!)

Now I am feeling a little too pleased with myself for successfully stumping the author! Still, the amount of paperwork I have to get through this evening will soon wipe the smug look off my face.

Yeah, you got me there. I had forgotten about that one.

I still need a prompt from you!

Good luck with the paperwork!
