I like this :) I'm not at all familiar with the fandom, but I like the relationship between the twins -- close, and caring, and more than a little creepy...

I just researched Tokyo Babylon on Wikipedia. It looks fascinating. Evidently your story is set in happier times, relatively speaking :(

It's the original heartbreak manga. Seriously, it is.
And one of my all time favourites. I read it ages ago for the first time, and every once in a while I take it off my bookshelf and read it again. (And every time I have this silly hope that maybe this time it might end differently...)
I even bought it in Japanese when I was in Kyôto. And it was very easy for my to read, because I pretty much know the German translation by heart.
Yes, being enthusiastic here. Sorry.

The relationship between the twins might have come across a bit more creepy than originally intended, but since it wasn't exactly OOC, I decided to leave it that way.

You know, that you read this despite not knowing the fandom amazes me. You really don't have to read everything I write, you know.
Still, I'm grateful! Especially since as you can see, this didn't get an awful lot of attention.
In other words: You're so sweet!

Here from togakushishrine; this is *awesome*. Creepy, yes, but for all Hokuto's lightheartedness she. Um. Was kinda creepy. Especially about Subaru. This goes wonderfully just before Tokyo Babylon, and it's a beautiful look at why Hokuto was a) so focused on Seishirou/Subaru and b) so terrifying about Subaru's clothes. I wouldn't have thought to go there, but her unwillingness to let them be apart fits wonderfully with disliking being female, since it's a way she isn't Subaru.

Awwww...*blushes* I haven't read much of your Merlin -- I don't know that fandom at all -- but I read this one out of curiosity, after scrolling past it a few times. Maybe it didn't reach any Tokyo Babylon fans. Did you crosspost it at all?

I haven't read any manga, but I've seen some of the animated adaptations. I've watched a couple of the Naruto movies. I also caught a few episodes of "Disciples of Darkness," which I really liked. (Sci Fi Channel runs anime sporadically and at odd hours.) I've noticed manga in thrift shops. Maybe I'll peruse some of it next time.

I did crosspost it, but since the manga is so old, the fandom is slowly dying away. It can't be helped, I suppose.

I've never watched "Disciples of Darkness" and only know a few chapters of the Naruto mangas. You're lucky I don't have your adress, or I would totally have bought TB for you. (I believe it was published in English.)

Thanks for the comment! I'm so glad you like it.

TB is a series I reread every once in a while. I'll always have a soft spot for this particular story.

Beautiful. From another old Tokyo Babylon/X fan, great job! You some how managed to make Hokuto's weird obsession with dressing her brother up into something deep and meaningful. Not bad for something that is mostly taken as comic relief (and since the creators are all female, they're probably channeling the costume-designer part somewhat). And Hokuto's obsession with finding the perfect 'husband' for Subaru ( ... )

In my country, they smartly published X before TB, so I was pretty much cheated of their backdtory in X and knew what would happen in TB. I wonder how much differt an effect it would have had on me had I read them in the right order.
Still, it was interesting like this as well. I greately enjoyed TB, getting absorbed in the story to the point where I would momentarily forget how it would end - but that would always come back at one point or another, and when Hokuto and "Sei-chan" were fooling around, I'd more often than not choke on my own laughter. It was kind of creepy and doomed.

Thank you for reading, and I'm glad you liked it!
