Don't worry, Ten, I'm not making fun of you. The penguin is a shapeshifting detective from the novels/comics.

That coat was dreadful, but it's kind of gorwn on me. I want a coat like that! (Even if I'd never dare wearing it.)

I won't rule out the consumption of illegal substances... though the novel I've read with him was from the late ninetys.
