Holy shit! That was so intense and vivid. I fucking love the way you write! You left me feeling distraught and hopeful about Sam and Dean's future. Amazing!!! And also doing this: ;____________;
Loved this. Loved loved loved loved this, to all of its oh so very vividly painted, haunted (pun not intended... I think), intense, at times creepy-crawly pieces. You are one of the very very few people whose descriptions of Hell don't make me go 'meh...', but actually make me shiver and glance over my shoulder every now and then (the grey City is probably the winner here).
(I keep getting these sort of 'Neil Gaiman' vibes from your Hell, don't know why, don't really have a way of explaining why or in what exactly, just one of those weird general... feeling... things)
Your portrayal of the bros knocked it out of the park. God, I just love protective!awesomeBigBro!badass!Dean *stares starry-eyed*
And, oh, oh SAMMY
I really, really don't like Cas here. Here's hoping the bros hand him his tail feathers sometime in this 'verse.
I actually find it pretty amazing that a fic where the Winchesters die barely a few paragraphs in and are not brought back shortly thereafter and go to Hell has a happy end and gives me positive hopeful

Thank you so much for your awesome comment! I never actually read anything by Neil Gaiman that included Hell, so that was no a source of inspiation for me. What I used as inspiration was everything I found disturbing or disconcerting. I find that if it wors for me, it usually works for most other people as well.
Protective Dean is my favourite Dean, so I always like to welcome him in my fics. :)
Heh. I'm not usually good with prequels. Rigth now I'm struggling with one for And this Great Blue World of Ours, but it's hard to come to a conclusions for that fic since it has to stand alone and there is just so much being resloved so much later. In this case it was more clear cut, but I'm glad to hear that it worked for you.
Dark Side of the Moon always annoyed me in regard to how it messed with many viewers perception of Sam. Yes, Dean interpreted everything in a way that hurt him, and everything was told from his point of view, but that doesn't mean that his interpretation is always correct. In fact, his perception of things is often

Heh, funnily enough, I've never read anything of Gaiman's with Hell either (well, maybe just some of the Sandman). So it was just one of those weird 'general mood / gut feeling' things. So yeah, your disturbing/disconcerting SO totally works! :)
Oh wow, a prequel to AtGBWoO! Very cool. Best wishes for the muse, I'm stoked to see more of the 'verse! You've created such a huge world, it would be awesome to get a deeper, closer look into it.
Dark Side of the Moon always annoyed me in regard to how it messed with many viewers perception of Sam. I know, right? I think I still have some emotional scarring left from accidentally stumbling over some discussions on this back in the day, when I was still young and inexperienced in this fandom (although, considering there are people who quite seriously blame Sam for going to colledge, I really shouldn't've been all that surprised). A more balanced allocation of 'headspace time' between the brothers would've worked wonders for fandom perception, I've always believed. But for all of that, I

Yay! There will be more 'verse!! You just made me very happy. And don't worry about taking your time. You have been writing SPN nonstop for nearly two years (betwen Blue World and a lot of challenges) so it's only natural your muse is pulling you in a different direction. I look backwards and I can hardly believe the incredible wordcount you have achieved in all this time when most people write one or two stories a year. You now I'm nothing if not patient so I'll wait however long necessary, no only for this 'verse but for whatever SPN related treasure you bring our way. Because your Sam is my Sam, and simply nothing compares

You have no idea how happy your word make me! I have, so far, met exactly one person though fandom with whim I have a friendship that transcends shared fandoms, and I would be so happy if you were another. I'd hate to lose you due to shifting interests.
And actually, my Merlin fic Through the Ashes is one of those I want to continue. Writing that one has always be so much fun! I don't know if you ever read it of if you'd even like it, but just as you said, it's unicorns and rainbows (And Merlin buying the internet) compared to the angstfest that is SPN.
The imagery with Sam nailed to throne near the end there was just amazing. And I absolutely love the house at the very end. Very visceral story, and so well-told!
