I think Kirk does see that it's not going to be easy, but for him it's a simple decision between "better" and "worse".

i'm...not sure how i feel about that. mccoy may be saved or further destroyed by this move, and i am really starting to hate that female...doctor. you would think that she would be able to muster up some compassion for someone in obvious agony, and that she wouldn't make judgments where she hasn't got all the information...
anyways, we'll see how all this turns out. thanks for the update,

As a total outsider in the story, Burke os mostly frustrated with everyone involved because they're not telling her all she would need to know. Her frustration is somewhat understandable, but definitely not going in the right direction.

While I was reading this amazing, yet completely terrifyingly sad chapter, my itunes decided to play the most depressing music.

It added to the drama...yet it made McCoy's situation more sad.

I just want him to get better.

Glad to see this update. Bones is really being wrung out by an expert..the sadist. Glad Spock has finally agreed to overwrite the bond. Maybe even make it better for McCoy when it occurs. Replace those old 'bad memories' with some nicer ones. Thanks for continuing. Adding to faves.

Well, Spock's definitely right to be worried about the outcome. But Kirk's also right: Anything's better than the current situation.
