Ghosts in Attics II, Chapter 6, Part 2

Nov 22, 2009 03:29

Continued from here.

Years ago, a man called Lazarus had caused some trouble for the crew of the Enterprise, and potentially for two entire universes. He had travelled to another dimension, an antimatter universe, and met his own counterpart. It had cost him his mind; unable to bear the thought of another him existing, he had become obsessed ( Read more... )

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Don't get me wrong, I am thrilled that McCoy is finally out of there (physically at least) but I cannot BEAR the suspense of waiting to find out how and if he is able to heal psychologically.

This fic had me on the edge of my seat. GiA 1 was deeply satisfying, and I cannot wait for the third fic.

Thank you very much!

I will start the next part as soon as I finished another ongoing story of mine. It shouldn't take all that long.

Badass Spock is so badass. I'm so, so glad it was him who rescued McCoy, and I can't wait to see what happens now that McCoy is back. I want him to get better, of course, as much as he can, but I admit I'm really looking forward to more psychological torture as McCoy fights against the hope that he's back and not the horrible person M!Spock forced him to think of himself as.

I feel sorry for M!Spock. We know that he would be capable of deep affection, loyalty, and kindness in another life, under the right circumstances, and the fact that he honestly can't seem to grasp it here is sad, in a way.

There was one part I was confused about:

Spock knew what he was saying: If that Spock lost, McCoy would be lost as well. It was intolerable.

And regardless of his peaceful upbringing, if he had to, he would kill.Did you switch POV here to regular Spock? I assume that killing M!Spock is what would cause McCoy to die, and losing McCoy is only intolerable to regular Spock. Or is this just M!Spock's speculation? Sorry if I'm being dense ( ... )

Writing characters with the same name really is a pain.
In this case, this is M!Spock speculating (correctly) that even if it's not in his nature, Spock would kill him if he had to, because if he let M!Spock defeat him he couldn't save Bones.

Thanks once more for the comment!

oooooooooooooh, that was such a suspenseful ending!!!

I loved this chapter though. It was so amazing. And I love Scotty. I just wish Spock had killed his mirror self. But as long as I don't hear from him again I'll be fine :D.

I'm SOO glad Bones is finally going home. I just hope he recovers decently. I'm afraid how he'll react when he sees Spock and Kirk.

I can't wait for the next chapter!!! <333

Bones and everyone else have a hard time ahead of them.
The next chapter will happen soon.

Wow. I have been reading for a while, but must be honest--if he didn't get rescued in this part, I would have stopped reading, because it was just too painful--I was actually disappointed when Spock didn't kill him in the last part. Also, your fic is as haunting and disturbing as this kind of subject-matter should be--but I need the happy, too. So, yay, and go Spock! I love (and shouldn't) that he was willing to kill, and lie, to save McCoy.

I get that he can't really recover. But I hope he does anyway.

The rescue should have happened even soon, but the fouth and fifth chapters got too long. I'm glad it's finally happened, too.

Thanks for reading!
