you're definitely right - i thought it wouldn't be this big of a deal, and it's mostly confirmed that i can't do this sort of thing again. i do feel like a bit of a sell-out, but it's okay because we all feel that way sometimes, i suppose.
thank you for saying so! that means a lot to me. ♥
This will probably sound like I'm trivializing your feelings, and I preface this by saying I'm not, because I know this is something that's very important and meaningful to you. But at the end of the day, we don't (or shouldn't) define ourselves by our looks or style, and I don't believe "selling out" or compromising has much to do with changing one's appearance. You're the same person with the same opinions, with or without the hair, and in my opinion, that's the more important statement to make to people (if one were to make a statement at all).
Because let's face it, we can't always control our appearance, and I think most of us take for granted the notion that we will always be able to do so. Just as I know there'll come a point in my life when I can't stop the stretch marks or the sagging of what-have-you, there may come a day where your body hair simply stops growing. And that's when we have to embrace who we are regardless of what we look like.
