Another good addition. I like all the interactions. Might have liked to learn a little bit more about Lyla's activities -- like some more blog entries maybe? And is there are a reason people aren't more concerned about where she might be? Is it because she's older? (I think I missed something somewhere maybe?) I guess I was looking for more concern?

But the harder part was the psychological effect of being around young kids who weren’t quite sure what to make of him. There were a few new recruits who had just moved into Dillon’s jurisdiction who only had vague ideas about who Jason was, or had been, and he could see them at times, casting sideways glances at him, trying to evaluate what kind of coach he could be when he couldn’t even stand up. The other kids were respectful, but they didn’t revere him as they once had, when his future was the one they would tie their own dreams to and hope to somehow, possibly emulate.That's great insight; how did that come to you? Of course I meant to type "good to shake things up a bit" in that next-to-last paragraph. Mind-before-fingers-typing thing trips me up every time. :)

Thanks for the great feedback. I'm holding some of Lyla's blog entries for later use; there will be more about what's been going on with her. And I'm trying to use her disappearance as the catalyst for a larger framework of stories regarding that which is missing in all these characters' lives, so in a way, this isn't just her story ( ... )
