SD Comic Con has become bloated beyond belief. Last year was the first time in forever that I skipped it entirely and, after hearing everyone's nightmare stories about waiting for hours and hours to get into panels, I think I made the right choice!
I'll be going to Wondercon in SF from here on out. It's run by the same folks but it feels like SDCC about 10 years ago. You can still talk to artists and walk into panels a few minutes before they begin. Plus, it's in SF! I could be a little jaded because I live in SD though ;)
Heroes and Baltimore Comic Cons are both great for interacting with the guests. Between the last year or so with Dragon*Con and those two, it's gotten to the point where some of the guests have started to remember me, lol!
