Yep.  It's full of writers, all right.  Capable of seeing high drama and potential plots where there were none, capable of reading way too much (or way too little) into post tone, capable of holding grudges in mind as long as a plotbunny or longer...

Okay, look.  If you're going to bitch, take a good long look in the mirror first.  WHAT DID YOU FIX?

politics, make my day, mnff, bitch

Pretty much the usual. Someone did something, someone else didn't like how it was done and decided to say so pretty much far too late for it to matter, and suddenly everyone's taking sides. Nothing like hot weather in the northern hemisphere to get everyone's knickers in a bunch.

Good avvie.

Ah, melodrama. Some people love it, live on it, can't go without it, and unfortunately drag it along with them everywhere they go, including into hobbies like MNFF. I wish you could grab them all by the scruffs of their necks and drag them apart. Then, while you've still got 'em by the necks, I wish you could knock their little heads together smartly. Then when they're sitting dazed upon the floor, I wish you could lay down the laws and make them either quit the drama or take it elsewhere ( ... )

That's the funny part. Mostly I know that someone, somewhere is being a snot. Occasionally I catch one of them.

I suppose this is what happens when our hobby is drama.

*sigh*

I haven't been able to stop thinking, for the last few days, of how the fire has completely gone out of me. Last night I opened up some old notebooks (like my original copy of Blood and Bone and some stuff from WATHC) and I kept waiting for inspiration to strike.

It didn't.

I'm starting to think that my muse divorced me.

Re Mugglenet: Sometimes, things get too big for themselves and they lose sight of what they started out as. The whole MNFF site probably ought to be scrapped at this point and started over again.

Of course, I follow the statement of 'too big' with the thought that it should be restructured in seven layers, one for each 'year' and that writers should have to earn the right to graduate to the next with the quality of their writing. Cause that would really make things easier.

Also: *hugs*

Oooh, wouldn't our touchy little writerlings just LOVE that system!!!! "Who are you and what gives you the right to grade me?!"

The muse is a fickle creature. When he's off, I go read about writing, or read other people's writing, or market something. On the whole, it seems to work, as all of those tasks seem to also be essential. If all else fails, though, bribery has been known to work.

This was inevitable. The past year I have heard SO much bitching about MNFF, I have seen a significant number of mods leave due to "politics"; that is to say, increased from previous years ( ... )

You know, if the book hadn't been specifically requested and cited as a really great idea, maybe I'd be okay with the complaints ( ... )
