The Tyler subplot is to mirror the Robin plot from the original, I think. He's a combination of her (being in love with a visitor and maybe eventually to have a half-visitor child), and the boy who loved her and then became corrupted during his time as a visitor helper.

At least I think that's what they are going for with this plot.

It makes me curious when they are going to have someone like Ham Tyler make their appearance.

It is going to be a bit strange since there doesn't seem to be someone 'guiding' it like Diana in the original, but I could be wrong about where they want to go with it.

BSG?

I am so so excited about the Ryan storyline. I really like him and I think there's a lot they can do with it. It would be so cool for his fiance to get pregnant.

If TPTB had spent more time developing his character instead of making him goo-goo over the alien then it might be more interesting. What would have been much more interesting is if his best friend was a girl instead of a pudgy loser boy, and she was a sleeper V.

This would've been so much better. Let's call Scott Peters so he can give you a writers position!

They've done a horrible job of explaining his attraction to the V's. Is it because his dad left and his mom works? Really? That's the best motivation you can think of? Or is it because that's his motorcycle riding rebel that stays out all night nature? It's just all very thin.

well it was kind of the same for Donovan's son in the original series. He got interested in the Visitors as soon as they arrived, and they didn't give much of an explanation except his parents were divorced and his lack of a father and/or authority..

I don't like Tyler much (he's so annoying) but I just can't wait for Lisa to get pregnant and/or discover that she's actually a nice alien /part of the resistance while Tyler, on the other hand gets even more brainwashed by the Visitors.. that would make so much drama :p)

I like the Tyler/Lisa scenes. I'm really interested into why Lisa likes/is manipulating Tyler in particular, and it adds tension because Lisa, being around Tyler so often, could easily find out about Erica being a part of the Resistance. Then again I've never seen the original V before so I don't know the full storyline. Also, I'm a "younger viewer", and I'm not interested in the storyline because of sex.

I don't have a problem with these scenes either. There's more than one way that the story could go (pregant Lisa, evil Lisa, Lisa joins resistance, Tyler becomes bad or comes to his senses just in time, etc) so I'd rather give it a chance than dismiss it right away. These scenes may not appeal to everyone but there's nothing wrong with different parts of the show appealing to different viewers (and if we took out every little thing that someone out there didn't like, we'd end up with nothing).

Research the "Brian & Robin" plotline from the original series. This is a mirror of that, but with the genders swapped. SPOILER ALERT just in case, as the outcome from the original series may just be written into the new series as well.

Brian was the advisor of the "Visitors' Friends" youth group. Robin was a teenage girl totally enamored with him and her father was a founding member of the L.A. Resistance. Sound familiar? ;)

I'm in agreement with you! I haven't read any of the other comments yet, but I am not in the least bit interested in the Lisa/Tyler storyline. It just feels a little too...Disney to me. Very High School Musical or something. Just your typical teenage drama of "oh, I'm totally in lurve wif dis girl - but my Mom will totally never accept our LUUUVVV!!" It just...eh...it's been done ( ... )

I read in a magazine where I guess it was the producers saying that Lisa will be very important. I guess will just see how the storyline plays out.
