You will need suncream (high factor) to protect your pasty irish skin from the Spanish sun, a selection of shorts, t-shirts and clothes for going out at night. Also, speedos. They are de rigeur on the Med and you will be laughed out of town if you don't have them. Money, passport and cheap booze procured from the airport will also be useful.

Travel insurance. Euros. Phone numbers for people to ring when your passport/wallet/credit card/suitcase gets nicked (I mean banks and insurance companies, not your parents :P). Backup lists of these numbers that aren't with your wallet so you still have them when it gets pinched.

I'm not sure what petty crime is like where we're going but it hasn't got a great reputation in touristy parts of the med - don't carry your wallet in your back pocket etc etc. Common sense. Zip-up handbags and all that.

Everything that Lauren mentioned. I'd go with factor 40+ suncream. Also sunhat (stop you getting heatstroke) and shades. Beach towel + beach shoes. Small first aid kit. Spanish phrase book with "completly plain burger" in it :)

That should do you - I'm sure you can pick up stuff there if you forget anything :)

You have now given me the image of Mr. Stephen McCann standing around on a Spanish beach, looking suggestive, with a handbag. Thanks for that... :P

Petty crime shouldn't be too bad so long as you're vaguely sensible with the money- the worst point will be if we go to the market on wednesday. Still it never hurts to be careful.

What with current flying regulations and the price of alcohol out there, it's likely easier and very possibly cheaper to buy booze while out there rather than transport it yourself, depending on whether they've put prices up since I was last there, exchange rate etc etc.

Sun cream and accoutrements, as mentioned elsewhere, are a must. You might also find pyjamas useful since they'll serve the dual purpose of stopping us being traumatised and stopping you getting up to anything you shouldn't be. Incidentally, owing to parental insistence, it is not permitted for unmarried, unrelated males and females to share a room, so sorry guys. I guess Sarah can have the sofa and Steve can sleep on the floor in our room?
This may be a lie. It's not the back of beyond, and you should be able to pick up most things there, there are ATMs etc (though I can't remember if ( ... )
