I love Los Angeles. But.....

Ways the state of California is doomed:

・INCOME TAX. Need I say more? -no joke that hoards of people are leaving because how high tax is here
・Enormous portion of population are undocumented workers who of course still need and require state funded services. -not that there's any compromise for this・We gotta hell of ( Read more... )

I always thought Arizona was going the pits, especially after one of the candidates, Barry Wong was talking about cutting water access and all. I'm disappointed that Obama hasn't done anything about that issue.

He could do the similar thing, we do with the Kiwis down here. Granted by they're overseas and all, but Kiwis and us are allowed to enter without use of visa, and can work straight away, as if they're a "native". Although, that saying, it might cause an uproar with the Tea party (or a they Republicans?)

We limit how many fast food joints can be within a certain radius to "protect outselves". (you made me fat by making your food taste yummy! I'll sue!!)

Kind of like how, parents are blaming companies for making their children fat? Um, you're the parents, :/

And the Happy Meals, was it the one where they sued Maccas to stop putting toys in?

Guess it's not a hot topic of debate today :P

Really? Can you stay a long time without a visa tho? Like in the U.S., you can work right away, but you'll need a work visa to work more after than a year or so (with legal benefits+whatnow).

Democrat, Tea Party, Republican, I dunno. Probably just matters if you're "ONE OF THEM" XXD

LOL totally XD Yankees thrive on bizzare lawsuits but actually putting into state (or even federal) law is just, absurd.

Yeah, probably. I think there were earlier suits claiming toy parts were hazardous to small kids. Now the claim is that toys lure kids to buy Happy Meals (.....that the parents pay for (・o・))

I know we have an agreement which allows free movement between the AU and Kiwis. I'm not sure about the work visa part, as their passport gets stamped with this special visa, which allows them to live in AU as long as they want. There used to be a time, where they could come over and then reap the social welfare payments, but it's changed. So they have to wait for two years, before you can get welfare payments. :3

Hahahahaha. You guys are quite passionate about your politics. We're quite laid back with ours, as long as they do a good job, we don't complain. Although the question on how our previous PM, John Howard managing to stay for 3 terms still surprises me D:

I wish I knew more about Aussie politics (^w^;). As long as you guys don't get bitter like Europe you're okay!

It's a passionate topic over here for sure XD If it gets personal I run away. For upper-level-advocates it's called "my favorite spectator sports".
But in it all, it probably is a healthy thing to keep topic in thought and debate. If it gets personal though I run away.
