Of working-kind such indeed is food poisoning,
Or the phrase "food poisoning" abused,
Under which many childish desires (to play hookie), mild stomach viruses,
And conceits are excused.

But true food poisoning is a durable fire,
In the guts longly burning,
Its host suffers for days - or is dead,
and to work not returning.
